  • ⠀ Tonight in the Courtyard⠀ ⠀ @skiforlife.aus Mates On a Mission is stopping in at the Kincraig courtyard for a free community chat with @benpettingill ⠀ ⠀ Ben will be sharing his story, from losing most of his eyesight overnight at 16, to the lessons he’s carried around resilience, mental wellbeing, and keeping good people around you.⠀ ⠀ The session starts at 7:30pm tonight in the courtyard.⠀ ⠀ If you're coming in early for a feed before hand we highly recommend booking a table.   • Anyone from a regional town knows it’s the people who make a place feel like home.⠀ ⠀ For us, that’s local faces behind the bar, meals heading out to the dining room, and someone ready to greet you when you walk through the door.⠀ ⠀ The Kincraig may be the building everyone knows, but it’s the people inside it who make it feel looked after again.⠀ ⠀ And it feels pretty good having that back here.
  • Breakfast for you, and breakfast on us for the little one in tow. Monday to Friday, when you order any full-priced adult breakfast item, we’ll include a complimentary kids breakfast. Handy for the mornings after school drop-off, the days when you’ve still got one small person with you, or the rare moment Mum might actually get to drink her coffee while it’s hot. Available weekdays at the Kincraig.
  • Just over 30 years sitting between these photos. Now, late 1980s, and early 1990s - three different looks for the same dining room. A few of you may remember that mustardy wallpaper in the second photo. From what we’ve been told, it wasn’t always quite that colour, the years of people being able to smoke inside had left its mark. By the early 1990s, the room had moved to those light blue walls. Funny enough, when we started our own restoration, not knowing that had been part of the room’s history, we landed on a soft grey with a blue tinge to sit with the Art Deco carpet and timber tones we’d chosen. And the fireplace? Still sitting there, exactly where it always has. We’ve upgraded it to electric, but that exposed brick detail has stayed. We love looking back at photos like these. They show all the little chapters this room has had, and how many people have sat, worked, celebrated and eaten here over the years. Who remembers the dining room looking like this?
